This Week at ePublishingDaily
It’s been a strange old week for me, not so much here but at my other blogs and from outside events.
Firstly, Monday saw the tragic news of Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter, who sadly passed away. Steve was one of the most well known Aussies (I am an Aussie) around the world and I think it staggered everyone by how much his death affected many.
To top it all off, as I’m writing this, I have just learned of another well-known Australian passing away in tragic circumstances. Peter Brock may not be known around the world but in Australia he was a legend. He died on Friday in a rally car accident. Peter Brock was the embodiment of motor racing in Australia for more than three decades. He had done it all and as a youngster I vividly remember watching him win race after race - hence his “Peter Perfect” title.
What a dreadful week all round … and then next week we have the 5 year anniversay of September 11.
Over at my other blog - The Blog Columnist, I had my own commentary on Steve Irwins death. Not knowing him personally and not a real avid watcher of his doco’s it was therefore more an open letter to Australians (as well as probably a letter to myself).
My weekly column over at The Blog Herald brought some nice comments - especially some innovative thoughts from 9rule’s Mike Rundle on where blog networks should be heading.
My next column at The Blog Herald will be a beauty - It’s going to be the rant that ends all rants against one individual who really disappointed me this week with a post he had written on Steve Irwin’s death.
