This eBook is loaded with all the practical advice and tips needed for anybody wishing to get into the information publishing business.
It focuses on special reports and goes though a whopping 32 chapters.
It covers all the basics: what is a special report, choosing subjects, research methods, pricing, and digital delivery to name a few.
But for me, it focused too much on tangible products - printing, binding and inventory issues, for example.
The book is a mixed bag. In many areas it’s glaringly obvious how out-of-date some of the information is - it was published in 2000. Many links provided were long gone and there were no mentions of PayPal or blogging. Although, it’s good to see that ClickBank was just as popular then as it is now.
But for my liking, it was 100 pages too long. It needs some serious editing. In my hands, I would do two things: I could easily see this chopped up into 5-6 special reports and make the writing more tighter and concise.
Secondly, six years in internet terms is a long time - I’d do a full update as it’s in desperate need of one and six years is too long of a gap between editions - especially for internet-related information.
The Special Report Bible could be a great e-product because it has laid down a solid foundation of information - it just needs some polishing up.
All in all though, taking into account the above, you do find many useful tidbits of information throughout the book.
