Seth Godin, eBooks and Squidoo
I’m a big fan of Seth Godin.
Damn it - I even tried to get an interview with Seth for the launch of ePublishingDaily.com but to no avail - don’t worry, I’ll get him on sooner than rather later.
Why I’m a big fan of Seth Godin?
Basically because he’s been somewhat of a champion of eBooks - heck he even promotes the fact that he has the “most popular ebook ever written. More than 1,000,000 people downloaded it”. That book being Unleashing the Ideavirus.
Further to that, The Big Red Fez (my personaly favorite), was the #1 ebook (worldwide) on Amazon for almost a year before it was published in paperback in 2002.
Quite simply, the guy knows how to market an eBook and, more importantly … he knows how to develop a real eBook - not one stuffed overflowing with affiliate links and shoddy design.
But I’m taking what Seth’s doing further. I’m using his marketing and design skills that he’s put into eBooks and taking it further. ePublishingDaily.com is primarily all about writing, designing and selling eBooks. Because that is the next big step eBooks must take. It’s all good and well to give away eBooks for free. It’s another to get readers to buy it.

On the topic of Seth Godin, lets talk about Squidoo. Squidoo is a social bookmarking site that Seth has recently launched - read Squidoo’s FAQ for the full insight on what are lenses.
A while ago, when I was planning this site, I got hold of the lens ePublishing at Squidoo. I own it! Yay … now what? I’m still figuring it out, but “watch this space”.
