Hey You AdSensers, Think about Us Advertisers
AdSense has been a boon for millions of website owners and bloggers over recent years.
With the least amount of effort your publishing endeavours can now finanlly earn you a penny, or if you’re serious about it … some serious bucks.
But ever since I got into information publishing my focus has been on AdWords - as I’m now an advertiser of my own products.
With that change in mindset I can now relate to advertisers fears over click fraud and other seemingly unethical AdSense practices.
The one thing I really hate is a tendency I’m seeing more and more of lately is not simply merging content and AdSense closer (that’s okay up to a point) but actually trying to fool the reader into clicking an AdSense Ad not knowing that they are.
Over at DigitalPoint an oldish thread Sites where I didn’t notice the Adsense shows some of the stuff going around and the mindset of some posters (ie: remember folks, other people pay for those clicks!!!)
What some of those using AdSense to make a living don’t understand (and they should) is that it takes AdWords to feed AdSense. In other words, no AdWords then no AdSense. Some people act like it’s okay to try to trick the system because they’re only scraping money from the 800 pound Gorilla that is Google. Wrong! It’s the advertiser - usually a small business - who loses out.
As an information publisher, using AdWords to advertise your products can quickly get you into the minds of prospects. Do it right and the rewards can come big and fast. What you don’t want is false prospects that don’t want to be there.
For myself, who is on a tight advertising budget, the ultimate placement for my ads is in a Google search return. I’m wondering if more and more advertisers are thinking along the same lines.

Well, you mean to tell us that using adsense without adwords is a very bad idea? This is quite true when talking about the benefits adwords can give adsense but you can not mean that it is impossible to make a “living” with adsense without the use of Adwords! Some individuals do not nead thousands per month to survive. In other countries you can live off 200-300 dollars per month. This is not such a huge amount for an adsense publisher and can be achieved even without adwords. Am I making a mistake in what I am saying?

Adrian - thanks for dropping in and commenting.
I think you’ve misunderstood.
AdSense is only possible because of AdWords.
So basically …
AdWords is for advertisers.
AdSense is for publishers.
They feed each other - but obviously more so from AdWords to AdSense.
If advertisers decided that AdWords wasn’t working for them (for whatever reason) then they would not spend (and actually advertisers are spending less this quarter on AdWords).
The money you make from your AdSense clicks comes from these advertisers (via AdWords).

Yes I agree with what you said. Adsense can not live without Adwords. I understand what you are saying but what I posted earlier is what I understood on the first reading of the post. Maybe somebody else will understand what I did so it is good to clear this up! :) Have fun and keep the good articles coming!
