The PDF format today is generally accepted as the industry standard in electronically sending and receiving documents.
In days gone by you had to have the Adode Acrobat software that cost you a mint (and still does). Not any more. These days there’s a deluge of third-party software companies offering a variety of pdf tools.

What do these have to offer that openoffice doesn’t provide? I mean It is free and convert to pdf is basic function in it.

I use PDFCreator, not the one on your list but an opensource one. I have found this to be the best free option and it does a lot as well.

Sorry guys for the late reply - I’m usually good with responding to comments on my blogs.
Panu - You’re absolutely right. If you use OpenOffice then there’s no need for any of these. But alas, by far most still use MS Word. OpenOffice, great as it is, has a long way to go to get even near MS Word in market penetration.

I use NowPDF Writer that I bought on eBay for about $10 and it works great. Saved me a ton of money. I have tried the open source PDF Creator and it still had a lot of bugs, at least 8 months ago when I tried it.
